Our Counselling and Support Services aim to help increase your life satisfaction by teaching you tools to manage your life better. Individual, couple, and family counselling services provided for:  anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, life changes, stress, and grief.

Groups

We know that most people find it hard to attend groups. It’s such a relief to find out you are not the only one struggling. Groups are offered throughout the year. Average group size 5-15 people. These groups are: Mastering Mood, Parenting the Adolescent, Inspire Rewire, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Weekly Meditation Group, Master Your Health, and Craving Change.

Mastering Mood

Feeling sadness, worry, anger, or guilt? Learn about the relationships between your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Start setting small attainable goals to help you feel better. Work on challenging your reactions to situations and negative thinking. Turn down the volume of your negative emotions, such as worry, sadness, anger, or guilt (open group).

Parenting the Adolescent

This program will inform parents about behavior modification, avoiding power-struggle, regaining authority, and feeling good about yourself as a parent. The group has excellent peer support as well as encouragement and guidance (open group).

Inspire Rewire

This is a free 6 week program, an introduction to mindfulness and meditation that will allow participants to learn stress reduction and relaxation. This can help with chronic pain, headaches, depression, anxiety, cardiovascular impact, cancers, diabetes, and accelerating aging, just to name a few. The good news is that real change in the body can happen in just a few weeks of committed learning. This will result in you feeling more at ease and having an improved quality of life. Practicing what you learn in this group will leave you feeling inspired and rewired (open group).

Dialetical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

This group is useful for people who find themselves in chronic distress due to difficult, painful emotions. These emotions may result in unstable relationships, difficulty coping, or harmful behaviours. DBT provides skills for emotion regulation, distress, tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness (closed group).

Weekly Meditation Group

A partnership with Grand Retirement Village. The benefits of meditation are numerous and well researched. May you be peaceful, may you be kind, may you be well. Wear comfortable clothing (bring a mat or cushion).

Chronic Disease includes: anxiety, arthritis, cancer, chronic pain, congestive heart failure, emphysema, heart disease, irritable bowel, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and more.
